Older Blog Entries:Here are some older weblog entries dating from 18 Oct 2004 until 02 April 2005. Go Trent Radio Go! It's so great to see the stream stats chugging away, spreading the culture of Peterborough to far flung corners of the globe. Keep it up folks. We're kicking some serious community radio butt now. Well, here goes...somethingIntroducing a new RFP. It's time to add some real community interaction to the RFP project. We've been enjoying your feedback, and it seems like you all have a lot to say. Now you have somewhere to say it. We're hoping to grow this site into not only a front end to the musical goodies Peterborough has to offer, but to help people help each other, and themselves. As a community, we are much more than the sum of our parts: we are a force to be reckoned with. The goal of this new community-driven version of RFP is to have you (yes, you) help us shape the future direction RFP will take. Discussion Forums, collaborative publishing, personal blogs, you name it. We forsee a day when a musician struggling with a bridge could just upload what they have so far, and have other folks slap their own tracks on top to help them out. We see people from all over the world starting up their own free, independent online radio projects. People doing all their own recording, production, packaging and distribution - all online - for free. All you have to do is request an account and RFP will do the rest. One of the next things we want to do is start publishing more articles on various D.I.Y. audio topics. Ever wondered which microphone to use, and where to put it for the best sound? Don't know a preamp from a send? No problem. As a community, we have a huge volulme of knowledge to share. So time to get busy. So request an account and get started publishing, commenting, writing and participating. Patrick WalshOur first Radio Free Peterborough Feature Artist was Patrick Walsh - Feral bluesman, author, songwriter, playwrite and artist Patrick Walsh is a one man wrecking crew of Rock. Pat works an impressive range of styles, each with musicianship and good old fashioned songcraft. He also plays the living hell out of the harmonica. |
