Radio Free Cornwall Update

Hi everyone...

Well I guess its time to bring you folks up to date on Radio Free Cornwall..Yes its online now...but no.... not on its own server just yet...

What a puzzling situation

Well first off I'd like to wish everyone a great long holiday weekend...But no doubt alot of us will be staying at home due to the price of gas $1.34 her now...Just enjoy whatever you happen to be doing...
I have a question with regards to my station..At present I am in the testing stage , so the station is up and down...Can anyone tell me why WINAMP is the only media player that can access my station..Windows media player just times out or tells me the media player cannot play due to codecs etc...Have gone to microsoft site for a cure...but have found none...I am using Simple Server Shout, and Shoutcast.. This combination is working for me...Although I would prefer to find an all in one source/broadcaster..all I have found seem to be very very expensive...and a fixed income does not make for alot of spare cash..If someone has any ideas with regards to either the media player issue or the All in One source/broadcaster software..please either blog it here or send an email to: radiofreecornwall@cogeco.ca

RadioFreeCornwall is alive

Hi to everyone who reads my ramblings..Well I took a little time off from my quest...I needed to chillout...and remove the cobwebs that were plugging up my thought proccess...Well today I decided it was time to take another stab at it...and guess what....RadioFreeCornwall is now testing on air...as far as programming etc...I'm in no hurry right now...I do have one problem that has me stumped...Windows media player refuses to work to listen to my station..no clue why...winamp works A1..haven't tried realplayer yet though..Anyone that can offer me some feedback on this problem???
I refuse to give up...too old and too stubborn to do that...Give a listen to the online test..let me know what you think....the station is at http://radiofreecornwall.dyndns.org:8000

Ok Steve will try this out

This is my very first stab at starting an online broadcast station...The info etc I picked up on this website has helped immensely...About the only thing I am short on right now is patience..lol....first I will tell you that I'm running cable internet using the highest home package available...I am also running a home network using a D-Link DI-514 Router...therein seems to lie the problem..
I will let you know that I have tried using IceCast Win32 to no avail...it just sits there looking totally stupid and cinfused (like me)..I found another broadcaster called SimpleCast which seems to do the job rather well...
