Radio Free Peterborough Feature Artist: Brian Sanderson

Meet Brian Sanderson.

Songsmith, teacher, multi-instrumentalist, and all around high quality human being, Brian has been involved with the Radio Free Peterborough Project since its inception, and has been instrumental in collecting and digitizing a large chunk of the current RFP catalogue. RFP simply couldn't be where it is today without his moral support, counsel and talents.

It would be faster to list the instruments Brian doesn't play. From intimate solo projects that showcase Brian's seeming ability to play anything with strings to wonderfully sculpted soundscapes for several international film and dance projects Brian's work bridges a huge range of styles and textures.

Hear Brian's entire discography on shuffle right here. Be sure to support Brian by purchasing his latest album L'Apostrophe from Zunior.com.

With his infamous Sousaphone, his stellar chops on trumpet (pocket and otherwise), down-to-earth style, and unparalleled musical work ethic, Brian is a cherished pillar of the Peterborough music community.

Although his physical body is living in Wakefield, Quebec for the moment his heart will always live in Peterborough. Despite being a number of hours down the #7 away, Brian is still a very active participant in the Radio Free Peterborough Project, and maintains active working relationships with the local music community.

Brian can be heard as a solo artist, or in any of the many musical projects he has been involved with over the years including Muddy Children, numerous Backlash Projects, The Silver Hearts, SOWFI, Pat Temple and the High Lonesomes, The Gorgeous Georgies Revue, and many others.

Brian is also the sacred keeper of the Bernie Martin archives. If all goes well, there will be a Bernie Martin Project website in the not-too-distant-future where you can find out more about this incredible cultural juggernaut of a man who passed away a number of years ago.
