Radio Free Cornwall Update

Hi everyone...

Well I guess its time to bring you folks up to date on Radio Free Cornwall..Yes its online now...but no.... not on its own server just yet...I have a machine for it, but unfortunately the machine has developed some sort of intermittent problem, and as we all know that the worst problem of all is an intermittent problem...the machine tends to reboot when its in the mood to do so....more on that at a later date. I was definitely struggling with software to get RFC on the air....I was finding that one minute things would run great..the next minute...software issues flared up...

I almost used the hammer on it....but regained my composure..cooled off and did the next best thing...I formatted my machine...did a nice clean reinstall and voila...after doing that...I downloaded Shoutcast DSP and Shoutcast Server...together they seem to be an awesome combination...

All is working better than I had expected, and I have to say I'm quite happy that it is.. I am now in the process of seeking out local talent to feature on RFC...I would like to get as far away from the so called (normal) AM/FM station format as possible...I have run a couple of ads on local boards letting people know what I am doing...so far the reception has been great..I have even had a local club owner offer to have new groups play for pay in her club...I do hope there will be more interested parties looking for free airtime promos etc..If and when I have enough content my plan is to feature a group once a week or once a month. I will keep you folks posted on the progress of RFC..At present I run either a country or rock streamer..I welcome any and all comments with regards to RFC, as they say..two or more heads are better than one...You can leave your comments here or if you wish you can email directly to: radiofreecornwall@cogeco.ca
Hope everyone had a great weekend.....and as Arnold would say..."I'll be back"
