We are pleased to announce that the new streaming server is now fully operational. Thanks to the kind folks at the Radio Tarahumara project for donating the server.

Streaming audio services have been migrated over to the new box, and we are now running a month-long trial period to monitor uptimes, CPU usage, memory use, etc. There's still a fair amount of back-end fiddling to be done with the server to get it Just Right, but the audio streaming services should be much more stable now.

Over the next few weeks we'll be adding some proactive monitoring software to the server to make sure the streaming services are automagically restarted if they happen to go offline. I have to write that software first though - so it's going to take a bit of time. I haven't found any existing software that does what I want, so it looks like I'll have to build it from scratch. Duct tape here we come!
